I’ve been a photographer for over 40 years, and I’ve used dozens of photo labs, both for film and digital. So, what would I say about BumbleJax?

First, I had some questions for them, and have to say that their customer service is about as good as you get! They were prompt, friendly and very helpful.

Second, their work is extraordinary. To me, any lab can print a photo, or, they wouldn’t stay in business. But what about a face mounted acrylic print? I uploaded three photos my wife *** took using close-up and macro photography, wanted them printed as face mounted acrylic prints, at 15x10 inches, on metallic paper. How would they come packaged, and what would the quality be?

The three prints arrived within a week. The packaging was excellent. After taking off the protective film from the acrylic, our jaws dropped. They were stunning! My wife dang near had them up on the wall before I discarded the packaging :) We just stood there and stared at them.

But what about large prints? I’ve had many made over the years and most have been good, some not so good. So, *** wanted a large print for over our sofa in the family room. I liked what we had gotten from Bumblejax, so, why not test them out on a large print? We decided the print we wanted would be 40 x 28 inches, and, why not do it as a face mounted acrylic print of ¼ inch in thickness. Big print, which will be quite heavy mounted on acrylic. How sharp would it look? How would it ship? Would it be well protected so the square edges would not be dinged or damaged?

I uploaded the extreme close-up of a flower *** had taken, which was quite sharply focused.

When the print arrived, I was very impressed at the packaging. Took several minutes for me to cut through all the bubble wrapping. The print was in perfect condition.

The mounting for the image was extremely good, much better than I had expected and really appreciated.

After pealing the protective film off the acrylic, once again our jaws dropped. Wow! That metallic paper really makes colors pop! The quality was supreme. Was it in focus? Did their printer reproduce the extremely fine detail within the flowers center? It wasn’t good. It was spectacular! If I were to overlay what was on my monitors screen to that of the actual print, they would match. Every fiber, the extremely fuzzy texture on the stem, just as sharp as on screen.

Are we happy with the quality Bumblejax provides? Very much so.

Would we order from them again? We are already trying to decide what the next dozen prints will be, and as soon as we do, I’ll get the uploading started. Can’t wait to see the prints when they arrive!!!
